Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has emphasised that Malaysia's development trajectory and economic achievements must benefit the entire population equitably, with particular focus on communities at the grassroots level. Speaking at a gathering in Muar on June 15, Anwar outlined the need for inclusive growth that reaches beyond major infrastructure undertakings and cutting-edge technological ventures.
The national development strategy should extend its reach to embrace farming communities, those engaged in fishing, rice cultivation and small-scale enterprises, rather than concentrating solely on flagship projects and digital innovation. "This prosperity must be accessible to everyone and deliver tangible improvements in the lives of ordinary people, most notably those in lower income brackets. We need representatives willing to champion their concerns and advocates prepared to articulate their perspectives. This demands that we venture into the communities themselves," Anwar stated during the Hi-Tea gathering at Pantai Leka Food Court.
While acknowledging the significance of forward-looking initiatives such as artificial intelligence and digital transformation, Anwar reaffirmed that the MADANI Government remains committed to bolstering rural livelihoods and earnings. The administration channels assistance through designated agencies and bodies to guarantee that welfare programmes and targeted support schemes function with maximum efficiency and reach intended beneficiaries.
Addressing members of the Cabinet and political figures at all levels, the Prime Minister underscored the importance of field engagement. Leaders must make genuine efforts to descend into communities, absorb grievances directly from constituents, and implement remedies with genuine effectiveness. Such commitment reflects authentic governance that refuses to allow any segment of society to lag behind during the nation's modernisation drive.
