Deep-sea mining threatens majority of rare vent molluscs, conservation group warns
An updated IUCN Red List reveals that deep-sea mining threatens 62 percent of mollusc species living around hydrothermal vents, with 125 of 201 known species at extinction risk from seabed resource extraction.
