New KWAN Law Tightens Oversight After RM5 Billion 2021 Withdrawal
Parliament has enacted stricter controls on the Kumpulan Wang Amanah Negara (KWAN) sovereign wealth fund following a RM5 billion withdrawal in 2021. Future withdrawals now require explicit Dewan Rakyat resolution, closing regulatory gaps exposed by the earlier transaction.
